Hartwig has a poor record in NC's that count for OG or WC. Isn't he basically retiring this year anyway? Stevenson hasn't been that consistent the past two years and will have to fix that to have a shot.
What's scary is that all these guys were around in '04 (if not '00) also. Some of you pups need to step it up otherwise by '12, the US fall by the wayside for another 10 years.
Stuczinski
None of the rest matter. Right now, she's the only one with a shot at a medal or even the final. Every other 4.60 vaulter is on the downside of their career or doesn't have the international experience to be successful at this level yet. I really think Lacy Janson could be there but she needs a ton of technical work and a dozen sessions with a sport psychologist wouldn't hurt either.

"You have some interesting coaching theories that seem to have little potential."

C'mon Brian, I pick you and you have no love for yourself?! Are you aiming to make the 2008 olympic team or shooting more for 2012?

right now my only focus is getting healthy so i can train seriously again. after struggling with knee problems for the past 2 years, im trying to get that taken care of and get fast again. If i do those things, and keep improving technically, then i can make some more definite goals
on a side note. going to the 2012 games would mean a lot to me, not that any wouldn't, but my grandfather went to the olympics in london in 1948, so that would be kind of special.
I'm kinda suprised at how many people are choosing Skipper... granted, the kid has alot of talent and the potential to pop off a really big jump.... but his consistency isn't quite on the same level as some of the other big names. I'd love to see a young guy like him get in there, but I'm gonna have to go with:
Tim Mack (gotta go with my boy from TN if he's healthy)
Brad Walker
Jeff Hartwig (if he's still jumpin, Toby Stevenson if Hartwig is gone)
I haven't been keeping up with the women enough to make an intelligent prediction there. I need to work on that.

I agree about Skipper. Sometimes I wonder if he is simply "too athletic" for his body to handle quite yet, thus some of the training injuries he has suffered throughout his college career. I do however think it will be very interesting to see how he fairs postcollegiately when classes are not in the way. In that light... does anyone know if he is graduated now, or if he still has school to finish?

He has not graduated, but it seems unlikely he will return to Eugene. He mentioned possibly taking online classes to finish out his degree.
He just moved down to Tiger Bar Sports ( http://tigerbarsports.com ). I think he was pretty happy with how healthy he got last time down. The coach really has the biomechanics stuff figured out.
