Absolutely the best vault competition ever! We had 8 out of 13 jumpers jumping at 5.85 (19'-2 1/4"). The vaulters had no idea what to do. They were having to pass pr's or near pr's to have a chance to make the team!
I was officiating the event, and several of the athletes mentioned to me they had no idea what to do with the bar at 5.85 and 8 left jumping.
Probably the best PV competition ever.
Can you imagine jumping 19'-1/4" on the first attempt and not making the team???
We are sending a GREAT PV team to Athens. Too bad, we had another 6-8 that could have medaled in Athens that are staying home.
