One of the best meets in the U.S. in recent history!! 4 guys over 5.70 and a new PR for Becky - 4.61. Im working on some videos and will have them up soon. Keep an eye on Team Pacer on Facebook for details.

I was upset that the men went to 5.70 instead of 5.72 (the Olympic A standard, and the window is open for Olympic qualifying), but I've heard from everyone I talked to at the meet that the runway was downhill, so I guess it doesn't matter.

We moved the runways to a new spot to accomodate 3 runways, provide a safer event (pits over the grass instead of concrete with padding) and allow for better spectator viewing. The back of the runway was downhill but it was flat from about 40 feet in. There was a bit of a deceptive visual that we proved with a level. All in all we accomplished our goal, safty first, and will make some additional adjustments for next years event to minimize the potential for controversy.

Hope you can make it next year Becca, bring the little one if you have to and I will arrange for a baby sitter, if you even need one at that point. LOL

I'd love to go to the factory vault sometime, but I can't when it's so close to my beach vaults. Maybe that will change and I'll make it out another year!

Great event by the folks at Gill. The runway was FAST, and the environment was awesome! Can't wait to get back next year. Much thanks to Gill for putting on an awesome meet.
