Jenn Suhr Painful
Jenn Suhr will have to try to qualify while on anti inflammatories and muscle relaxants to try to deal with a medical mishap. Pole vault is crazy to begin with and on muscle relaxants is totally insane! But the nightmare is the story of how it came to this. Apparantly at the end of March, Jenn had a shot in her back to prevent pain. Something went very wrong. Immediatly after the procedure she fell and was unable to walk. She was sent home and it was sized up as a simple side effect. Since the mishap, Suhr has been unable to vault. She has missed her entire outdoor season including 4 scheduled meets, unable to even walk to her mailbox and back without extreme cramping in her legs and feet. Doctors have since diagnosed this as a side effect with no distinctive time limit. Whether the injection hit her spinal column or caused a side effect has not been determined. One thing is for sure, this is anyones worse nightmare. Our best American vaulter and comprehensive World leader last year and this year has been sidelined by a mistake. The last time Jenn Suhr jumped she set a P.R., American Record, and World Lead of 4.86.

Re: Jenn Suhr Painful
All of these are the reasons I never write her off. No matter how bad it gets she always comes back. Quiet but tough as nails. The girl has guts and smarts. Wishing her the best! Bubba

Re: Jenn Suhr Painful
This is a tough break and I'm praying for her recovery. I had been wondering what her status might be. She is the only one in the world who can beat Isinbayeva. But I understand the nature of her injury, as I am currently suffering from a neurological issue myself and can't run. I learned that if an injection hits a nerve, then permanent damage can result. It is significant that she had an immediate reaction to this injection, so she knows the cause and doesn't have to worry about more dreadful issues.
