UNCW Holiday Pole Vault Camp
December 26-27, 2004
Lon Badeaux and I will be conducting a two-day pole vault camp on December 26 and 27 at UNC Wilmingtons Harold Greene Track and Field Complex. Lon Badeaux is the jumps and multi-events coach at Arkansas State University. The camp is open to all vaulters, but space is limited to 30 athletes. Coaches are also welcome to observe. Cost is $150 per camper and $25 for coaches. This is a great opportunity for pole vaulters to prepare for the upcoming indoor track season. Lon Badeaux is regarded as one of the foremost jumps coaches in the country. In 2004, the NCAA named Lon runner-up jumps coach of the year. UNC-Wilmington will be hosting a track & field coaching clinic on Saturday, February 26, 2005 from 9:00am - 3:00pm. The clinic is open to anyone interested in learning how to instruct athletes in track & field/cross country. The clinic instructors will include the UNCW coaching staff. The cost is just $15 to cover materials. Lunch is not provided.
The morning classroom sessions (2 options per session) will consist of the following:
9:00am Pole Vault / Sprints and Relays
10:00am Throws (SP & Discus) / Hurdles (HH, IM)
11:00am Distance (800m - Cross Country) / Jumps (HJ, LJ, TJ)
Noon Lunch on your own (many options just off campus)
The afternoon track sessions (2-3 options per session) will consist of:
1:00pm Pole Vault / Sprints and Hurdles / Strength Training (weight room)
2:00pm Throws (SP & Discus) / Jumps (HJ, LJ, TJ)
Update your own knowledge and that of your entire coaching staff (discounts available if you bring a staff of 3 or more). Clinic Objective: The objective of the clinic is to improve the knowledge of cross-country, track and field with emphasis on training, conditioning, academics, nutrition and sportsmanship for N.C. middle and high school coaches and student-athletes.
