I was just wondering...

How much does Mitch weigh?
What type of pole is he on? (brand/flex/legnth)
Where is he holding on that^ pole?
and ... How many steps does he go with?

Thanks~!

Mitch is 6' 1" and weighs about 165. He jumps on CarbonFX poles. They are 16' 1" 170 and 175 lbs, in I think 3 lb increments. Since last weekend he has been hitting things much better so he borrowed two older Pacer Carbon's, 16' 1" 180 and 185 lbs. Yesterday was the first day he jumped on the 185. He was gripping about 15' 5"+/- (14' 9" in the box) and cleared about 23" over his grip. I think he was running from 7 lefts.

Also for anyone who hasn't seen Mitch vault, dreadlocks look pretty cool going over a crossbar.

LOL Yep. Mitch has what they call in rock climbing terms a "Positive Ape Index". His is +3 inches, which means that his wingspan is 3" longer than he is tall. He can stand in a doorway and put his finger tips on the ground and nearly touch the top of a door frame. :dazed: He still measures his grip the same as many top vaulters, with his top grip in place, his right arm stretched out, his left hand is on his right shoulder to get his grip. But his arms are so long it looks extremely wide.

LOL I stop him sometimes on the runway because it looks to wide and ask him to show me how wide it is. But when he puts it to his shoulder to measure it, it's ok. O:-)

Interesting. I just measured and I have a Positive Ape Index of +1-2. Don't know if it ever did me a lick of good for vaulting, but it gives credence to my wife's claim that I have monkey arms!

Are your knuckles raw from dragging the floor? If so you need to work on your posture. LOL

I wonder if swinging on a pole during the growth plate years affects it any. Kind of makes you go, "Hmmmmmm" :D

Checked my wife. Much to her delight, she has a "Negative Human Index" of -3 inches.

Maybe evolution hasn't quite caught up with us guys.
