New freshman girls record? Shade Weygandt (TX) 12-9

Shade Weygandt won the TX 5A girls championships with a jump of 12-9. That beats the old record of 12-8 by Allison Stokke, right?

Yes.

That's what was announced at the meet anyway. She made it by 6 inches easy but was intimidated by 13 and never really finished a vault at it. She was on an Altius 12'9" pole gripping about 12'3".

I've seen video of some of her jumps earlier in the year. WOW! Great job Shade! Also, congrats to Paul Richards for a great day in Texas with his kids!
