I miss Houston. You'll find a friendly vaulting community there. The weather is another issue . . .

The pole vault coach at Rice U, David Butler, is from Fort Wayne. He is an excellent nationally-known coach and a cool guy. I am aware that there are some in Ft. Wayne that bad-mouth him, but don't believe any of it.

Also, TSU is just down the street from UH's Robertson Stadium. You might look into getting something going there if something doesn't already exist between your schools.

Go Houston Aeros

Rice has all comers meets on Friday evenings through June. I heard they start up again in September. Dave Butler is usually there for the pole vault. My son and I have been vaulting once or twice a week at Clear Lake High School this summer. You can come vault with us if you would like.

I would recommend going to Rice to vault. There are usually alot of people out there and Coach Butler knows what he is doing. You'll get some great help out at Rice.
