helmets are like the pocket protectors of the vault world. . . no offense to those who wear them but whatever!
work, sweat, tears, and pain... all of this for just one gain.

On behalf of my early days of vaulting when I DIDNT HAVE A COACH, I resent that... At least I dont think I was a nerd of the vault world... In fact, I would only suggest that uneducated vaulters and/or vaulters with uneducated coaches should wear them... Toby Stevenson is the exception to this rule, because he is simply a bad A... So I think a better simile would be that helmets are like diapers... When you, or your coach, has become smart enough, you will no longer need one... And when you are old you should wear begin to wear them again, much like diapers as well... :P
4.75... Write THAT down...

I think all uneducated pole vault coaches should wear helmets all the time so we can pick them out at meets and make fun of them behind their backs :P

Most of them are wearing the polyester Bike shorts that come up just below their man boobs. They're pretty easy to spot.

When the UIL and NFHS finally decide to approach this issue seriously and intelligently, and require mandatory certification of all high school and jr. high vault coaches

Can you imagine which coaches they'd pick to develop the certification? That could be scary!
