Sounded like an awesome meet- there were 4 higher flyers out of the top 9 that qualified for finals, and the winner was a FRESHMAN!! Great job to all who jumped.....
That is also a new national freshman record as well....

My first NH EVER had to be at states. Score.
Kelly is not giving himself credit for getting through prelims to even jump today. Pulled out third attempt clearances twice in prelims and jumped within a fraction of an inch of his PR just to get to today. Pretty good perfomance, in my book, despite the NH in finals.
He's not the only one that left a lot on the field yesterday. Today Ryan Shuler looked really BAD (for him ) on just about every one of his jumps. Both Mike Tully, who was staying at my house, and I had Scotty pegged for a big meet today after looking GREAT in prelims. Pretty gutsy performance for him, opening at just 4" below his pr at 15'8", then jumping 16' and 16'4".
