RB's Mattoon sets record in girls pole vault

Rancho Bernardo's Emily Mattoon set the San Diego Section record in the girls pole vault last night, clearing 12 feet, 10 inches at the Palomar League track championships at Mt. Carmel High.

The RB junior pushed her sister, Kate, to No. 2 on the section list. Kate set the previous best of 12-9 in 2005.
Emily Mattoon cleared 13 feet last year, but it was in a dual meet. In order for a record to be considered, there must be at least four teams participating.

I came pretty close to having to vault against her and Emily and I go to the same school :) Now I don't feel bad about missing 9'0 ;)
