How do you qualify for the state meet for girls pole vault in California?

Well depending on your area there are a series of meets that you must quilafy for.

Example: For Southern Section there are 4 divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4

CIF Prelims
Each division competes at their own location
They vault until there are 9 left. Those top 9 will qualify for CIF Finals

CIF FINALS
All 4 divions (1-4) compete together. 4 Divisions- 9 qualifiers from each division. 36 total
They jump out for height to get the top 12. The top 12 move on to masters.

Masters:
12 athletes- top 5 automatically move on to state.
**At-large height**
The At large height is a mark that is automatic for state. Just for example. say 11-09 was the mark for girls. So if at masters there are 12 girls competing, 7 jump 11-09, all 7 go to state.

Remember, there are other sections that go a different route to get to state. I hope tihs helps

haha...for me it's Kelsy Hintz and Stacey Jung...and then a whole bunch of other girls in the 10'6-11' range!

no u dont. believe me. i'm in the LA section and at 11 feet, the closest mark to me is 9 in JV. its really hard to get better when there is nothing there to push you.
