Laura was your first real pole vaulter. If Tom Laythe is still the coach over there, ask him what she went through to blaze that trail for you.

She's throwing javelin at Regionals this weekend. She has about a 50-50 chance of advancing to NCAAs in Sacramento.

yeah toms definately still there, speaks very highly of her, trust me ;)
tom told me something about how they just didnt have pole vault at all, and she asked him if she got herself a coach if she could vault, and he said yeah obviously
you saying she has a chance to advance for javelin, pole vault, or both?
anyway how do you know her?

I am the guy who coached her.

She messed up her left shoulder, so she's done vaulting. She won Big East vaulting as a sophomore before getting hurt all her junior year. This year she took fourth in the Big East indoors before hurting her shoulder. She has a better chance advancing as a javelin thrower, anyway. She's still learning. I don't think she's thrown in a meet more than 6 or 7 times.

Say hi to Tom.

Wilson
