um, isnt that mark an INDOOR record. I believe Eshbach holds the outdoor record with 18-2.25

Sorry, I read that in Jack Shepards book. I may have misunderstood what I was reading. It said that Sage Thames had it at 17' 6.5" in 00

now i know i could be wrong, but i think i read somewhere that the OFFICAL outdoor record is thames of 17 6.5, and unofficial records were 18 2.5 by eshbach and skipper at 18 3....

i heard something about those 18' marks were after season waso ver, bu tyou have the summer to jump for your high school....

im not aware of the rules, this is just heresay..

thats a good question because its different between states if the summer meet counts becuase my friend broke the state record over the summer and we still dont know if they are going to count it or not

eshbach's mark was in the texas state meet, i think in '99

skippers was a summer meet(golden west?)

some people count skippers as the record. i say your high school clock stops at your state meet senior year, but that is just me.

The NFHS does not recognize marks set in the summer. Track and Field News and some others give them until August 31st. States vary on their rules.

So who has what record really depends on who you ask.

Like I said in the post, I was under the impression the age record for a 17yr old person was 17'6.5" . Scotty will not turn 18 until the middle of the summer so he would like to get that one. So if Eric Eschabaugh was 17 when he went 18' 2", could someone let me know where they saw that written. Thanks
