I was in the beginners group (only 11 for me so far). I was the guy from El Rancho. Everyone at camp knew me because I got there early with one of the Mt Sac guys (he and another one of the people over there went to my school). The only regret I had is that my hamstring was killing me the whole camp (I think I blew it out yesterday running a 300) which prevented me from learning more than I already did. I had the spikey hair and was probaly the darkest kid at the camp LOL. I was the one talking to the Mexican team in spanish.
It sucked not being able to have my own pole until Monday though, because I was really getting back to bad habits using their poles, which if you saw me, would know they were much to big for me to use.

Re: Mt Sac Camp
hahah, darkest guy there. i felt like i was the darkest guy there outside of the mexican vaulter with the goggles. he beat me out by a bit. haha
i got shin splints the second day after all those spring board drills. it was hurting a bit and i couldn't get on my normal pole so i was on a warmup pole until i started to kill it.
btw, did you improve at the camp? how did it feel?

Re: Mt Sac Camp
Man, I was way darker than him! LOL
I got better...I went in with a PR of 10' and got up to 11' on the last day.
Next year I'll be back to be in the advanced group.
