Senior pole vaulter strives to achieve goals after missing NCAA Indoor Championships by inch

At the March 25-26 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships, senior pole vaulter Paul Nicoletti got the crowd energized.
He gestured that he wanted a rhythm clap from the crowd to help him muster 17-5 ½, which was more than half a foot higher than he had ever attempted in a meet.
It was fitting after five years of trying and his family watching, the bar stayed put. His coach Rick Sloan couldn’t help but smile and come all the way across the track to congratulate his captain.
