Edmonds All-Comers Meet Info
Posted: Mon Jul 28, 2003 5:28 pm
I just emailed this to a bunch of people. Here it is if you ever go to the Edmonds All-Comers meets and aren't in my address book.
Here are the bar progressions for the all-comers meet this Wednesday, July 30th, at Edmonds-Woodway High School. I have adjusted the heights to allow those who come every week a chance at a new PR. I encourage you all to start 3" higher, rather than 6" lower, in order to speed up the competition. The pit will be open for additional run-throughs after 8-0/12-0 for those entering at 8-9/12-9 1/4 or higher. Remember we will start right at 6:00pm, so come early for warmups.
This is my last week with you guys! Mike Bentley will be back to running the pole vault for the last 2 weeks.

2.21 (7-3)

4.58 (15-0 1/4)
4.81 (15-9 1/4)
5.04 (16-6 1/2)
Next week, August 6th is the RETRO MEET! Bring your retro clothes, spikes, poles, and have fun. The races on the track will all be run in yards, and the pole vault will be in feet and inches only!
I will suggest this bar progression to Bentley for the retro meet:
Low Bar
6-9
7-6
8-3
9-0
9-9
10-6
11-3
12-0
High Bar
10-9
11-6
12-3
13-0
13-9
14-6
15-3
16-0
August 13th will be the last meet.
A big thanks to everyone who has helped with moving the standards and putting the bar back up, particularly the Enders family and Tim Simunds.
I still have an insane number of cookies left over from my garage sale. They are delicious and have 3 kinds of chocolate chips in each one: semi-sweet chunks, white chocolate, and dark chocolate. They are 50 cents each and all the money will help Zack and I eat and pay other expenses as we drive cross country. A word of warning though: if you get any, eat them discreetly or eat them outside the track. The Edmonds facility guy is very anal and does not like food on the infield (this is the same guy who turns the lights out on us if we run too late).
If you want to see my plans for my trip back to Georgia, and my pictures from my trip out here, go to http://www.polevaultpower.com/roadtrip/ If you want to see cool pole vaulting pictures go to http://www.polevaultpower.com/media and check back often for updates.
Thanks for the great summer!
