Interlake athletes swept the pole-vault titles. Senior Laura Schvaneveldt won the girls event by clearing 11-6, while classmate Ryan Vu went over 15-3 to win the boys event.

Vu was locked in a duel with Mount Spokane's Beau Carrillo, who cleared 15-0 on his second attempt. When Vu then missed, the Interlake vaulter passed on his third try to instead take one shot at 15-3, a personal-best. He cleared it with ease, and when Carrillo couldn't match, Vu was the victor.

"It feels great to come back," said Vu, who was competing for only the second time this season after suffering a pulled hamstring.
