Know any good places to learn to vault?

I've been kicking myself for many years now for not having vaulted in HS and figure I better give it a try before I get old (I'll be 46 years young in Oct). Does anyone know of a good place to take some novice lessons in Southern California? I live in La Habra Heights which is East of Whittier and West of Fullerton (about 25mi East of downtown LA). I met a cool guy at Outdoor Nationals in Wisconsin this year who just started vaulting for the first time at 50. It was on his "Bucket List" and here he was at Nationals. Totally awesome!! Good luck to you and hope to get to meet you. Bubba

I hate to hijack this thread, but I will be opening up my training center just 45 minutes north of New Orleans on Oct 15th. We have a bunkhouse that sleeps 16 with bathroom and shower facilities and indoor vaulting equipment. My credentials as a coach include, "I've never killed anyone." So anyone interested in coming and staying just let us know. Our rates for room and coaching are $50 per day.

ps - The fishing here is incredible and you can be on Bourbon Street in less than an hour from our facility. Maybe some of you masters guys should get together and do a "boot camp" here. Just a thought.

That's so cool! And here my boyfriend is a college freshman thinking he's too old to start! I think he's going to be quite good actually. Our school is small, with only 1 guy who vaults(pr=12'), and 2 girls including myself (the other's pr=7') So I think it would be a good learning environment.

Did you do it right and include a built-in refrigerated beer cooler?

No, you have to walk 25 feet from the pv pit into the kitchen of "the big house" to get a fresh beverage.

Could be, but how many of us could make a 25' trip after a jump?
