Any idea on what poles will be available for rent ( brand, length, wt. ) and how hard it will be to get them?

I'm sorry for the delayed reply, Larry. I keep intending to ask Tye for a list but keep forgetting. I do know that it is a fairly complete series - not unlike the one Earl has on his wall in Jonesboro. I don't know if the mechanism for borrowing a pole has been worked out yet; but I don't think it will be very complicated.
Have a safe trip out here.
God Bless Texas.

Re: Minimum starting heights at Sacramento
Thanks, Wilson. I read the memo from SAC., sounds fairly simple unless 2 or 3 vaulters need the same pole. I just hope I can jump better than I have been, or it won't matter. Hope I see you out there. (wish HE would bless us with a little cooler weather)
Thanks,
Larry

Re: Minimum starting heights at Sacramento
It better be simple because Tye has all my poles.
The heat may not be that bad . . . at least compared to San Antonio. I think pretty much all the pole vaulting will be done in the morning or early afternoon.

Hey Wilson, there are a few of us lucky ones that start at 1:30 and probably won't be done till about 3:30. That puts the finish at about the hottest time of the day. Hopefully there will be a breeze to help cool us a bit. We've had a few hot days recently when we vaulted in Eugene and I hope that has me ready for whatever Sacramento delivers.

Re: Minimum starting heights at Sacramento
Does anyone know who I would contact to see what poles ( length/weight) will be available for rental as mentioned in the Athletes Information download. This sounds like a great solution but only if I can find something close to what works for me.
Could the "list available at the packet pickup table" be posted here on polevaultpower?
Appreciate any help with this
Thanks
Howard

There is a separate thread for borrowing poles:

Looking forward to meeting you. I will be helping with the standards Saturday and have an outside chance of jumping Sunday.

Re: Minimum starting heights at Sacramento
We had our officials' meeting last night and we reviewed the facility. We will be using the inside runway (closest to the football field), which means there is more downhill to the runway, i.e., the crown of the field is further back along the runway. We will be using Sac State's crappy pit and standards. I don't know what the wind conditions are in the mornings, but late in the afternoon to early evening the wind crosses from right to left. The runway drops so much that the wind shouldn't keep people from getting on poles.
Warm up periods will start 45 minutes before each event. Check in directly to the event official.
You get a run through for each 3 heights passed. They must be taken as they are earned, i.e.: if you pass six heights you get one run through after the third height and one after the sixth height, not 2 run throughs after the sixth height.
Make sure you respect the spike length requirements. Your shoes will be checked.

Re: Minimum starting heights at Sacramento
Thanks for the update on the vault setup details-- it always helps to know what little things you are facing ahead of time. I got your message on poles-- I think I found a couple that will work.
Look forward to meeting you too.
