Charlie Brown does it again!
Congratulations again to Charlie Brown! He set two American records yesterday afternoon at the San Diego State Friday night vault series, first clearing 4.25 and then 4.35. Results can be found at http://aztrack.com/July_16__2010.html

Nadine O'Connor confirms that Charlie's jump was off a regulation runway, and not the raised runway they use.
The meet was USATF-sanctioned, so the record should go through.

I certainly appreciate and respect Becca's input, but my first thought was, "oh well, he's going to jump higher anyway." Bubba

I took a road trip from Charlotte to compete in San Diego with everyone at the Friday night vault competition. Charlie looked great clearing 4.35 by 3- 5 inches. On his jump he reminded of an older version of Bubka. The Friday night meets hosted by SDSU Assistant Coach Rich Fox are great. There are world class jumpers/coaches down to beginners with four pits. The officials do a great job putting running the event. If any vaulters/coaches get an opportunity to compete and/or watch I highly recommend it.
