Hey so today was my first D3 college indoor meet. I've never vaulted indoors before or anything, and I'm really disappointed. My PR is 13' but I only vaulted 11'6" -- which is pathetic. Did everyone else have horrible first collegiate meets or is it just me? It worries me because I'm scared that I won't be able to get back to where I was.

I came into college with a PR of 12' and i NH'ed my first 3 meets. 11'6" isnt a bad start. think of it as jumping 88.5% of your PR at your first meet of the season. thats a great way to start the season! who do you jump for?

P.S. I pr'ed by 18" my freshman year and 16" my sophmore year.

Remember - It is not where you start, but where you finish that matters.

A lot of people have a bad first meet...just a warm up.

Jump high enough to make the league meet and shhot for nationals. It only takes one jump to get there.

I jump for Washington University in St. Louis. Thanks you guys. I have some work to do this week before my next week but I'll be able to work out the kinks.

I no-heighted 7 times my Freshman year. It sucked, but it's just your Freshman year. You will have plenty of time to jump high.

yeah man patience is key. I came up a 15'9 vaulter and no heighted and didn't even get over 15' but once the entire season. But I'm battling back and have cleared 15'6 already this indoor..so just relax and it will call come back
