Big East Conference at Akron

I guess the Big East, despite having 16 schools, has to use other facilities to host it's conference meet.....but i have heard that Akron has a great track.....any one know about it?

FINALLY, out of the damn carrier dome, im so happy this happened, and may no one have to compete at the carrier dome again or a track of that caliber for such a big meet

We are very proud of our indoor facility at Akron. We should have the best oversized track facility in the nation. I cannot think of a better combination training/spectator facility. Even after a year of walking through it I am still in awe and amazement. I invite any of you to come walk through and better yet participate in one of our meets. It is definitely not even close to any kind of cut and paste of any other facility. The only similarity with certain facilities in the nation is that we have a football field in the middle.

Our facility is a dream come true allowing us the best in training and putting on meets the way meets should be showcased. With two of every field event the facility has allowed us to run a quad meet in only 2.5 hours. Our saying at Akron is Ã¢â‚¬Å“that you have not been to an indoor track meet until you have been to one at AkronÃ¢â‚¬Â

And besides...Kent State's fieldhouse is old and ugly and it looks like somebody's basement. Kent State is just jealous!

I think you Big East folks will be impressed with the facilites and the way the meet is run. We are looking forward to hosting it thats for sure!

So are you vaulter at Akron gonna be hanging around there, or do you have a meet that weekend???
