Can ya feel it in the air? Mmmmmmmm smells like CHAMPIONSHIPS! First
up in our big PreviewPalooza is the NCAA Division I Indoor
Championships being held this weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas
hosted by the Razorbakcs of the Unviersity of Arkansas.

Friday afternoon (03/14) brings us the men's final at 5:35 pm while
the women get their shot at 5:30 pm on Saturday (03/15)

Just like last year they gave 17 folks a ticket to Fayetteville. Took
4.03m 13'02.50" to make it to the show - actually an inch LOWER than
last year. Pity poor Christie Elwin who missed by a mere centimeter.

Amy has had a brief indoor season this year with only 4 competitions
under her belt but she's pretty much the odds-on favorite here. Her
PR is 6 inches over her nearest competitor and she did it at the
Arkansas facility last year in winning the '02 indoor title. Except
for a few mishaps outdoors last year her championship record is
excellent.

from two years ago when she was still competing for Clacakamas in the
Junior College Division. Unfortuantely none of her other marks this
season really back it up. She's got the talent but can she get that

Right now Oregon is ranked #2 and #3 and if Kirsten Riley makes the
field they have a solid shot at racking up some serious points for
the Ducks. Niki began her season with a nice PR at Reno and has
posted solid marks since. Unfortuantely her championships record has
been less than stellar but nothing would make me happier than to see
that streak broken. Unfortunately as it turns out the ladies who
have gotten married during their collegiate careers have not exactly
lit up the leaderboard (Shannon Agee -> Jones, Michelle Tronstad ->
Hodge etc. etc.)...

Niki Reed woulda gotten a medal, Niki McEwen... wellllll we'll see...

Interesting - she went 5-for-5 getting first place in every meet she
entered. Wonder why she didn't compete at the MPSF Championships???

Jan Johnson. She basically only began vaulting competitively last
spring if you can believe it. She's got the genes. She's got access

Reno 2 years ago when someone nudged me and asked "Hey is that Amy
Linnen" only to find out he was dreadfully wrong when Kevin turned
around. He's gonna need somethign special to get on the podium but
