Tomorrow i am going to a local university in maryland and am taking an unofficail visit. The coach has asked me to come and i am staying with one of my former high school teammates. I know for an official visit i am not allowed to partake in any phyiscal activites or accept any form of a tangible/concret items. Since this is an unofficial visit, am i allowed to do what i what, even take some jumps, os should i just treat it as official???

I'm not sure you can. I don't remember exactly the quote, but i remember my coach or somebody telling me that highschool athletes can visit a practice or a meet, but regardless of it being an official or non-official visit, i wasn't alllowed practice or take part directly in any of there activities. I was unofficial visiting last month and i so wanted to vault but something i remembered told me i might jepordize my season, i don't know, look for another opinion, just to make sure...

I also am not sure about whether it is legal or not, but I would put alot of money on it being illegal. I am sure the coach at the college knows, but you don't want to lose your senior year because of a couple vaults.

You're in college right now, right? I am assuming you aren't on the team at the school you are at... but even if you're not on the team, they can't talk to you about scholarships or anything about you being on their team until you are released. Even if your school doesn't offer a track program, you have to get released
How stupid is that?
I know that one because a friend of mine at Florida wanted to go play men's soccer at another school (UF did not offer the sport) and he had to get a release from Florida before he could talk to the coaches from the other school.

in my history i've never heard of being released from a JC to transfer to a 4 year.
as for the jumping at the school, i heard that no matter what you can't partake any physicaly acticivity that can be like a " tryout ".
I could be wrong about the tryout thing, but i'm pretty sure about the JC transfer thing. I transferred from a JC to a 4 yr and didnt have anything signed.

You can't do anything physical, nor take any gifts, regardless of whether it is official or not official. The only thing that makes a visit official is the fact that the school foots the bill for you being there and it counts as one of your five visits.

If you transfer to the other school, sure. Getting released shouldn't be a problem in that case.
