I am just wondering about things now cus im redshirting this year, along with half my team, for some reason my coaches are redshirting my whole entire class along with runners and throwers. but anyways, anyone speaking from experience from redshirting what are things you worked on during the year and what did you look to get out of your redshirt season. im working towards just getting comfortable on bigger sticks and working on my technicalities. im pumped to be gettin some higher heights now too, but then there is the question does it suk to redshirt like when you see the results and see everyone competing?, any info you have let me know i would like to see what people think about this topic

I am sure you will still be able to compete but you will not be wearing your schools uniform.

I spent my first three years of college not competing for a University. It sucks, but I just went to little meets in the middle of nowhere and jumped unattached and won them
Definitely redshirt!

Redshirtting is an incredible opportunity to improve your performance just so long as you don't get lazy when you aren't competing. I have seen people come out of their redshirt years and do incredible things. I have also seen athletes gain some weight from drinking beers on the weekends when they were not traveling with the team and there were no local meets.

I redshirted a year outdoors 2003 and indoors 2004. I felt like it was very beneficial. I was able to focus on things in my vault without being worried about my performance. I improved both of my pr's. I am hoping to added onto what I learned during that time, and really be competitive this season. I could tell you more about what I did while redshirting, if you want me to send me a personal email.

I redshirted my Jr year and went to just about every meet except conference. I also PRed that year and never jumped that high again.
