University of Utah is looking for a Graduate Assistant for it's women's track and field program. Possible candidates must be able to coach sprints and jumps. Experience in the pole vault as a competitor or some pole vault coaching experience required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone, who wants to do graduate work, coach and continue competing.
Anyone interested should first contact Interim Head Coach Tapio Kuusela via e-mail

I agree. Graduate assistanships in general represent a great opportunity, especially considering the expense of college educations and the growing importance of graduate degrees in many professions. I was a graduate assistant many years ago. It paid for my graduate school tuition, it provided enough of an income to cover living expenses, and I was able to work closely with many professors, some of whom became mentors. It's also a good item to have on a resume when you begin the career placement process.

Yeah, and it'll get you use to living in poverty just like a real collegiate assistant track coach.

What happend to Mike Laboe, the old coach? He put on an awsome street vault in the Gate City mall in Salt Lake last summer.

I am at San Diego State University. I apologize to all the girls that are having a tough time in Utah without a coach. You are all excellent athletes and deserve more. I hope the matter resolves quickly.
Thanks for the comment on the street vault. I had a lot of fun with it. I am glad you liked it.
