I don't get it, this was too me the greatest womens competition in NCAA history and the only comment is about how poorly the girls here are coached! Six girls over 14' is pretty impressive to me, maybe because I have never coached anyone who jumped that high, if I had maybe I would feel free to criticize those coaches. 12 girls over 13'9 and only two are seniors, all this on a warm muggy night with no tail wind at all. I sas several poles move to and some past vertical. At 4.40 all the girls appeared phsically and mentally tired and may not have jumped their best but I thought they did an oustanding job. I say congrats to the girls and their coaches on a excellent night of pole vaulting. I look for even bigger and better things to come from our girls at the college level.
Winners find a way to win, losers find an excuse.

I gotta agree that it's not fair to judge them based on the last few jumps of the competition, which is mainly what was shown on the live feed. When someone has been jumping great on a certain pole all night, and then comes up a little short on one jump, it's hard to say to go down a pole or drop grip, when maybe they'll hit it better next jump. I think criticism in this department is only valid if you saw the whole competition.
