Unread postby mowad1 » Wed May 11, 2005 10:47 am

What happend to Lacy Jansen at FSU. She started the outdoor season on the Regional List. Then she was a no show at ACC's and now she is off the regional list and unattached.

What's the deal?

I'll be interested to find out. I've always thought she has the most raw talent of the younguns, but seems to to have pretty mediocre coaching.

shes redshirting. shes taking the season to try and devlop some confidence in her run again. she will be back bigtime next year so watch out.

and for what its worth.. she likes her coach a lot. in fact shes planning on staying there after she graduates

the majority of her issues this year have been in her mind. shes just a little spooked since her crash. she will be back though.. dont you worry

But didn't she already compete for the school this season? And hasn't she already redshirted outdoors?

If she's physically healthy, you'd think she could show up at conference and jump from short run to score a few points for her team.

yeah, I know that you can compete in 20% of your meets and still get a medical redshirt, but what is her injury? Plus it may have been more than 20% anyway.

She competed the 2005 indoor season, and redshirted for the 2004 indoor season. Lacy is redshirting for the 2005 outdoor season. She is saving that last year for a full year of eligibity, unlike Brad Walker -- where he had one indoor season left after using all of his outdoor.

Lacy is going to be coming on strong after she finishes her redshirt season. She has already cleared 13'1 1/2" from four lefts. Lacy will also be joined next year by her two younger sisters, Kristin (who is already there and sounds just like Lacy) and Britney (who has jumped 11'6" this year as a high school senior). So this FSU team will be packed with the Janson girls -- should be torture, I mean fun for the FSU team ;)

According to her fellow pole vaultering teammates, she has the ability to clear 15' and possibly 16' if she can get everything worked out.

i spoke to her again yesterday. i knw for a fact she is redshirting this season and will have a full year next year. She made this decision at indoor ACC's actualyl and has not competed for FSU outdoors at all this year she also jumped 13'3 from 4 lefts at our meet yesterday, and nearly 13'6.
