[color=blue][b]The flex system a way to determine relative stiffness
a 50 lbs weight is used in the center of a set span to determine the deflection of the weight in relation to the stiffness of the pole.
A larger number means it bends down more with weight on the pole and a stiffer pole will support the weight and read a smaller number.
Each length of pole has it own assigned span, so the numbers are not comparable equally between different lengths. With ESSX all the poles do have a flex number engraved in the butt of the pole. However because we want you to know how to move from one pole to another I have developed the XLOGIC SYSTEM
This system provides a weight rating assigned to the ESSX flex number that relates to the relative stiffness of the pole. Example when you purchase other brands they provide poles in 5 lbs or 10 lbs increments with varying stiffness within each weight rating and apply the flex to the closet weight rating.
In the past and not anymore the poles made before 1996 had a flex number that could be a 150 stiff or it could be a 155 light flex. The charts used in the past allowed the manufacturer to select which weight rating they choose to accommodate their inventory and demand.
TODAY the systems used by all companies is more exact however, with the way they rate the pole you could purchase a 145 lbs pole and a 150 lbs pole and they could be a 145 light and a 150 stiff and be difficult to move from one to another OR they could be a 145 stiff and a 150 light and be so close you wasted your money and have two poles very close.
If you order a 145 lbs and 150 lbs pole from our system you may receive a 145.2 lbs or a 147.4 lbs or a 149.6 for the 145 lbs and for the 150lbs you may receive a 151.8 lbs or 154.0 lbs. The beauty of the line is you know instantly what you have and do not have to rely on the flex number.
The weights are based on the metric system and we call it a POWER NUMBER (HINT: POWER NUMBER X 2.2 lbs gives you the lbs. rating)
So when you move from a 13’ pole to a 13’7â€Â
