Katie Stoever, of Tulsa, Okla., won the Young Women's pole vault with a clearance of 3.50 meters/11 feet 5.75 inches. "It was horrible. I've jumped 12 feet for four meets in a row, I should have stayed on the pole I'm used to jumping 12 feet on," said Stoever. "I'm happy with first, but I should have done better."

I just returned from NC last night. It took me 2 hours just to get through NYC bumper-to-bumper. My total trip time was 16.5 hours from Raleigth to Norwich, CT. But I looked cool. I drove my daughter's Mustang with a pole bag jerry-rigged poking out the passenger's side window (don't ask me how I did it :) ).

The meet was terrific. The people who were in charge were very, very nice and helpful. The officials were great. The temperatures were cool on Friday morning for the YW's vault and there was a tailwind. OMG what else can you ask for! Jessica had fun but was exhausted from doing 4 college visits in 3 days (and driving 700+ miles in the process).

It was fun to meet several vaulters and parents.

Yea, I'd be curious to know about the "All American" status too. How cool would that be? Does anybody know the answer to that one?

i have no idea about the all american, but i met russ and yeah the meet was awsome, well i love any track meet, haha but it was a good atmosphere. one thing is though, all the girls and everyone who jumps there should be for warned if they aren't already that A and T has a fast track and almost everyone is under for a number of their jumps. I was pleased to meet Russ and hope to maybe at Reno. I was disapointed not to jump, but sign up error on my part. looking forward to it next year though! fun stuff
