I assumed it was rhetorical too, but I wouldn't mind hearing about the exact relationships that some of these vaulters have with their relatives.
There's a lot of familiar last names listed!
For example, Riley Richards. I assume grandson of Bob, but son of who? Paul, Tom, Brandon or Bob Jr.?

It's a year old, but here's a background story on Bray and Richards, and their coaches/fathers:

Zach McWhorter's Dad, Rick, interviewed at UT-Houston Medical School when I was faculty and Mike Holloway was one of our students. During his interview day, he actually stopped by my office because he saw some pole vault crap on my door.
I see he went to UTSA instead.

Funny thing is that I had just returned from the National Masters Meet, which was at BYU (where Rick was a student at the time), where I had no-heighted.

Re: Texas Relays Boys A
I can confirm that Riley Richards is indeed Brandon's son. That's my boy!! It is so great to see all of our sons competing and becoming lifelong friends just like all of us fathers did! Passing the torch to the next generation...
