Kentucky to require PV coaching certification

The Board of Control approved that the Pole Vault Certification for schools who participate in track, and have student athletes who compete in pole vaulting, be certified before the track season begins.

In the past this certification was mandatory only for post season competition. The Board agreed that it is necessary for coaches to receive the proper certification before the season begins.

Pole Vault certification can be obtained through the Pole Vault Certification Board in an online clinic. This certification is good for 2 years and the cost is $35 per coach.
