How high would someone have to vault to get a full ride schoolarship to a collage? If someone won state would they probably get a few schoolarships? What if someone broke their school record would that get them a schoolarship?

maybe for a collage schoolarship you would have to do okay in schol. (ya know, good gramar, speling, math maybe) only kidding. you'd have to be way good if you want a full ride for pv, dont even know if its possible.

Colleges dont care about school records or place in state. What interests them is your best marks. And if the only thing you do is vault, then you definately wont get a full ride. Guys like Tommy Skipper and Kilmartion probably got a full ride but they are very good in 10 other events. You have to be able to score points in several events to get a good scholarship if not you better be jumping 18ft to get a full ride.

for a full ride you would have to be something special, im in the same boat as you my friend, im also looking into schlorships and what not, what ive been told by teachers and coaches, is that its a combo of your heights, work ethic, and grades. Good results in the state meet are always nice too.

This issue has been adressed before on this bored. You will probably get a general consensus on that it depends on what school you want to go to, and their need for a vaulter at that time. In hs, to really have a good shot, I would say you need to jump at least 16', but again, most everything is goign to come down to need. You could be a 17' hs guy, but if you want a scholarship to a school with 2 or 3 other 17' (+/- some), it may ruin your chances to get into that school. The best thing to do is to contact the schools you are interested, and see if they are going to have anything to offer. As posted above it doesnt realy matter so much on if you've broken your school record or if you won state (clearly some school records and state meets are weaker than others, not saying yours is, just saying generally)......This post might seem a little long, but what it boils down to is make contact, and see if they want you to come vault for them. Let them know YOU want to be there.
