Congratulation to Morgann LeLeux, today she set a new national high school girls outdoors by clearing 4.34 m or 14-2.75...She won regionals at ULL in Lafayette La. Morgann took 3 good attempts at 14-7 but she was done after finally breaking the national record. Very proud of her and she has 2 more meets before her high school career is done.

There are two sets of high school records, those recognized by the NFHS and those recognized by Track & Field News. Most in the T&F community consider the T&FN records to be the "true" records.

T&FN gives graduating HS seniors until August 31st to set records, so any marks she sets this summer will be recognized as records as well, at least by everyone but a few stuck-in-the-muds at the NFHS office. ;)

That is why two different guys hold the men's national high school record. Tommy Skipper 18'03" and Eric Eshbach 18'02" 1/2.

Looks like she can get a little more out of it. She was only about 3 foot under...
