flying poles

i was trying to figure out how i get my poles with me if im flying somewhere but i either cant do it or its ridiculously expensive. i was wondering how any of you guys do it when your flying to go to a meet

Take Southwest Airlines and be prepared to pay $50 each way.

America West and US Airways take them for free. Continental is now $75 each way - I think.

ooooh okay thank you. thats not too bad. for whatever reason the airline i was checking didnt allow poles

Lots of them don't. With every airline but Southwest, you need to check and make sure the plane is big enough to take the poles. Southwest's planes are all the same size unless you are on a weird puddle jumper flight operated by their partners.

I heard from a friend that works at Southwest they may be going up to $100.00 each way to carry poles. Just a rumor. but would not doubt it .
