Wristband Rule

Alright so recently I was at a meet and the official told me that I can't where my wristband in competition. I was wondering if anyone else had heard this because this is the first time that ive ever been told I can't wear my wristband

In Oklahoma no jewelry, wristbands anything like that . Also all uniforms must match, no logos over 2 1/2 inches in diameter among other things. They are very picky here. Several players were dq for uniform violations.

Do you mean like a livestrong type wristband or a forearm protector?

The rules say you can use tape, but you should be able to wear a wristband as well.

Well take it off and tough it out the bruise doesn't hurt that bad.

I bet if you completely taped over it, so that all they could see was tape and not wristband, I bet that would slide. You should always ask the officials though.

Forearm protectors are specifically allowed for, bust out a rule book on 'em. Or just get used to not using one if you don't want to confront them.

3. ... The use of a forearm protector to prevent injuries shall be allowed.

USATF rules don't apply to high school meets.

Out here, forearm protectors are considered "equipment" just like watches.
