Homestead’s Katie Veith attempts a vault of 13-6.25 to break her own state record at the IHSAA state championships June 2. She missed on three attempts, but settled for her third state title in the event.
Katie Veith spent the week after winning the state pole vault title relaxing and hanging out with her family.
On June 2, the Homestead senior culminated another brilliant season and her high school career by vaulting 12-6 and winning her third state title in the event.
So a little time off was well-deserved, especially since Veith – The News-Sentinel’s Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year – will soon be vaulting again.
“As soon as the summer gets going, I’ll be back to practicing and working,â€Â
