Somehow, I missed this nice article pertaining to Katie Morgan when I made a search using her name. Anyway, I located it when making a search for April Kubishta. There’s only one sentence in the three page article pertaining to April.

Was unable to locate a newpaper article pertaining to April Kubishta other than those just posting results.

If anyone has read the artical, it was crazy that she was vaulting with a bursted appendix. I was at the meet and she said her stomach was really hurting her, but she kept on vaulting, she skied over 12 and then she stopped. She is one amazing vaulter, shes really quiet too, not the typical athlete. And she always has a smile on her face! Go Katie!

LOL! Chase a beast... He wishes, but I'll tell him you though so. LOL As his dad I can tell you he was 6' 2" and about 148 lbs when that picture of him attempting 17' 1" was taken. He has been hitting the weights and is up to about 157 lbs now. We'll see how that translates to speed this season. He was capable of low to mid 17's last year but never got the timing down on the 16' poles. He's cleared 16' 3" in a meet on a 15' pole holding down about 6" to 9" from the band, and cleared a bungee clean at close to 17' in practice on the 15' poles.

Don't overlook the S.C. vaulters--Everyone knows about Chase Shealy,16'8"--- but do you know Mitch Greely, pay attention and you will (15" 6" as a Soph. in 2002.) Also Sara Young is left out of the women's list --(12' 5 1/2" at Jr. Olympics, first picked up a pole April 2001)][/b]NO LIMITS!

DITTO!! SC had been blessed with vaulters performing very well at a young age. They are all off to a great start this year also. Oh about Mitch Greeley... he was only 15 yrs old when he jumped 15' 6" last year as a sophomore. He and Chase are both jumping there age, Chase has done it the past two years. I'll start a separate post to see how many nationally have done it the past few years. It should prove interesting.
