I jumped 13 at a meet at North Cental College in Naperville and at the other three meets i've been to (Illinois State, Ted Hayden Classic, and Illinois Wesleyan) I've jumped 12'6". It was cool to PR at my first meet of the season. My best before was 12' and I wasnt very consistent so this is a huge step for me.

No I haven't been to that facility in Ft. Wayne. I pretty much just stick around the chicago area. My coach is great so I don't really travel to much and go to a lot of camps.

Pole vault: Regis girl goes 10-2, finishes fourth

February 6, 2006

Terra Schumacher of Regis High School placed fourth with a personal record 10 feet, 2 inches in the Pole Vault Summit on Jan. 28 at Reno, Nev. There were 18 participants in her group that involved girls with previous bests of 10 feet.

Schumacher, a junior, won the state 2A pole vault title last spring with a personal best of 10 feet.

Schumacher was among a group of vaulters from Oregon who practice under the guidance of Paul Wilson and the Vertical Vault Club. The entire summit attracted 2,000 vaulters from ages 6 to 84.
