They have to measure it the first time with the standards zero'd out. Once the standards are locked and set, the hieght can't change unless the standards drop or are moved for some reason, and then you have to re-measure. I am just going by what the Director of ALL USATF meets told me and other vaulters last year. He said that to make us wait more than 5 minutes before attempting our assumed PR's is ridiculous because you start getting too cold and want to jump, especially when more than 1 jumper is jumping at the hieght, and that the rules only say you have to measure it once, unless the standards drop. He also apologized for his officials wanting to go straight to 17'9" and not attempt 17'7", and told us next time to argue with them. His words not mine.

And Becca, thanks for that, assuming i make 16'4" im going to raise hell about having to go straight to 17' now (unless of course i make 16'4" first attempt and no one makes 17' ;) lol j/k). I will ask them today, but im assuming they just forgot to add the hieght.
