Track and Field News Rankings

Unread postby danimal » Thu Oct 26, 2006 2:20 pm

Has anyone seen the Track and Field News rankings from the 2006 season? I hear Scott Roth is ranked ahead of Mike Morrison?? Only Scott Roth could have the second highest jump in the nation and have his Nationals meet record broken and still be ranked #1. What a badass.

Scott Roth didnt make the call, so no need to get upset with him, they are both amazing athletes.

I did see that, but I also saw that Michael Morrison was a dec before he decided to concentrate on the vault... anyone have any marks from his dec-days?

I've always concentrated on the vault and hurdles; I just kind of played around with the other events. As for the dec, I never did any serious training in it, just went out and had a good time.

Heres my marks for each event:
Dec- 6952
100- 11.14
LJ- 23 3
Shot- 40'
HJ- 6'4
400- 48.7 in relay, 50. in open
110HH- 14.41
Disc- 135
PV- 17'6.5
Jav- 172
1500- 4:50

300h- 37.9
TJ- 46'5

Scott as a Junior, cleared 17' or better 13 times. As senior, he cleared 17' or higher 11 times. He has also been over 5.15 34 times in his high school career.
But there is no doubt Mike Morrison did end up the year with the best outdoor mark at 17'6.5. And for that is the top high school vaulter.
Yes, both had amazing High School careers and will go on to have exciting college as well.
