What would it take for a vaulter to walk on for pole vault at a d1 college that has a good pole vault program?

I think that it depends on a few aspects. At Madison, they have 2 state champions of WI. One went 15-4 and the other went 14-6 or something. But the speed is a huge aspect to a lot of schools. So is height. So I assume if you only went 14, but were decently fast for someone in high school (11.5 in 100m or better), you might have a shot.

A guy who went to my school was bad at pv, but picked it up in decathlon in college and get better. He's like 6-4 and runs about 11.55 in the 100m. So anything can happen i guess.
