summer meets

Unread postby 1yeldud1 » Mon Jan 26, 2004 6:09 pm

I agree you need to check out the summer track meets that vault dad runs. He runs one "mean" meet. ( only kidding ) the only problem that I have had is that there is not enough time to discuss p/v and cameras with amy and vaultdad. My old "garage sale" cameras vs her new shiny chrome high tech digital state of the art cameras. ha ha ha ha lol

i would LOVE information on those competitions when they come around. always ready for another chance to jump :D
and yeah, i saw some of the information on the lower class heights...my mom found an article online from some town newspaper down in southern missouri, and they had state qualifiers jumping i think 7-6 and 8....kinda depressing...here you have to be like that jeff city freshman to get an article written about you...she IS awesome though....definitely looking for her to break the state record this year...

Wow...I think I have a headache now from reading all those qualification things. Eesh...anywho, for anyone interested, in Virginia schools are divided into A, AA, and AAA. However A does not have PV, so screw them. In AA and AAA, you can qualify for states at any meet with 10 teams or more (I think) by obtaining the state qual. height set in some VHSL über-manual. (For guys, its 12' and 8'6" for girls in AA, for AAA its 9'6" for girls and ?? for guys.) But if you can't jump that well, you can still move on from districts. The top 6 places from districts move on to Regionals (several districts combined), and top 6 from Regionals move onto States. So, thus goes Virginia State PV Qualifications. Woot. :D
Hey is that a pole in your hand or are you just happy to see me?

It is really hard to make it to the state meet in CA and it makes it even sweeter when you get there. I think it is lame how in other states have seperate divisions so there are like 4 or 5 state champions for the same event. It doesn't make since.

In wisconsin, there are 3 divisions (like A, AA, and AAA). There are 16 regional meets in D1 where 8 teams are at each meet. You need to place in the top 4 to make Sectionals, which is 2 regionals put together. In this meet, you need to place in the top 2 to go to state. When all of those qualifiers are found, they accept extra qualifiers who jumped as well as or better than the 8th legitimate state qualifier. Crazy, huh?

And now i wish i vaulted in NM. haha

In Illinios we have regional meets where the top two finishers and anyone who jumps 13'9'' go to state. Thats for AA. I'm not sure about A but I know the top two from regionals go and i think anyone who jumps 10' or 10'6''. but i'm not completly sure.

ha ha, very funny
i believe the standard is 12-9 or was when i last checked a couple of years ago. dont forget that the A competition in the state final is often superior to the AA competition.

yea.. in washington you can either be top 8 at league and go to distrists and be top 2.. or make the qualifying mark..
8'3 is qualifying for league and 11'4 is qualifying for state
courtney christine..

so the good news is that you don't have ADD.. the bad news is that you have 4 months to live.
well it's 4:30 and this was a very short practice.
are you calling me fat?
