St. Mary's 7th grader sets new pole vault mark

EAST PEORIA -- Bloomington St. Mary's Tanner Hull shattered one of the oldest Illinois Elementary School Association records Saturday when he soared 11 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault to win the Class 7A state title at Eastside Centre.
The previous mark was set in 1986 when Todd Foster of Washington cleared 10-10.5. Hull's mark was a foot higher than the runner-up.
