Hippler ups vault record
Sports briefs, Jan. 28
The Clackamas Review, Jan 28, 2009, Updated 16.9 hours ago

SPRINGFIELD — Oregon City senior Jared Hippler continued to make waves in Oregon high school track and field over the weekend.

Competing in an indoor meet at the Springfield Sports Center, Hippler cleared 16 feet to break his own school record in the pole vault.

The ink had hardly had time to dry on Hippler’s old record, which he had set at 15-8 in a meet hosted by the University of Washington on Jan. 17.

Sixteen feet is the best mark by any Oregon high school athlete so far this year.
