Finishes 12th with a jump of 5.10 meters. He was the youngest vaulter there.

5.10 Starting Height?

If he did have to start at 5.10, that's one of the higher starting heights I've seen a high school vaulter negotiate successfully.

Tom Parker, back in the late 80's, opened at 17' at the Irvine Invitational and cleared it on his first attempt. He was attending Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA and vaulting unattached at the time against the Open vaulters with the likes of Mike Tully.

Wow. Very impressive. I'm surprised I never heard of him. How high did he end up jumping in his career?
