Re: New coach..

Thank you so much all of you. I think i was in the position where i felt like i knew more than my coach only due to the fact that i have vaulted for six years and this is her first season coaching it, and she's trying to coach me out of a book. I felt as if more experienced vaulters and coaches agre...

Re: New coach..

By she wants me to go up i mean that she wants me to take off and not just run through. The drill was hold at my usual grip and work on my driving and swing leg.
Usually we warm up with 2 laps, stretching, drills, and 30 meter accelerations. After that i head over to pole vault and begin jumping.

New coach..

I have been pole vaulting since high school. I am a sophomore in college jumping 15'1 and this is literally my coaches first season coaching pole vault. She's an amazing strength and speed coach, but when it comes to pole vault its hard to not question her sometimes. Few examples: 1: She always want...

Pole progression

2 weeks ago i jumped 15'1 with a 15 ft pole maybe about a fist and a half down from the top. My standards were at 77 (my coaches call). Previous to this i was jumping on a 155 15'7 holding about a foot from the top because it was too soft after that. My coaches just bought a 15'7 160 and 15'7 165 bo...

Getting on a new pole

Im a senior in high school and my pr is 14'0. Im jumping on a 155 15' Pacer 3 at about a 14' grip. I can hold 1 fist higher but after that its too soft. So my following pole is a 15'0 155 ucs spirit. Im getting ready for regionals and im trying to get on this new pole, i hate to admit it but jumping...
