Coach Robbie
We have known Coach Robbie for over 35 years and he was awesome. My hubbie was on that 1970 national championship team ( a long time ago...track and the NCAA has changed alot since then) A great example and a man of honor and he loved the polevault !. Thanks for posting this announcement

I had never heard this term before ' tap" probably becuase my sons coach never did this with him...But I have seen many coaches/athletes do this. I can see how it would teach bad habits and create a false sense of security. And perhaps even dangerous ? Bobby free plants every jump... even in warmups

we have had exchange students in our home before, from japan and Australia before. We have a great track program at the HS and it is close to the college. Hubby is a track coach and my Son who is at BYU as a vaulter was a 16+ footer in HS , vaulting now in college. The HS is 1/2 from our house, the ...

We also know Alan very well and I have posted about this book on other threads... I cant say enough good things about it. I am just the Mom., watching supporting track for more then 32 years. Yes I agree and have posted on other threads about the value of this book. My Daughter who coaches HS vaulters in So CAlif has been using it exclusively with her beginners this year and has found it extremely helpful as well as here in Utah we have been using it with the high school vaulters we coac...

oh and it was a sweet jump. Technically right on and he just flew over the bar. He then went to 18"4 to go for the BYU record but the wind had come up by then... Trent is also a mean car mechanic !
