It seems that the conditions were far from perfect: 13-14°C, drizzle and swirling wind. Renaud Lavillenie was for instance jumping from a shorter approach (16 steps) with a relatively small pole (5.00/15.0).

Today at the Gala Filothei Women, Katerina Stefanidis jumped 4.86, she wasn't kidding when she said her aim for 2016 was to jump 5 meters!

Last Saturday Lisa Gunnarsson (still 16 years old) jumped a new world youth best of 4.50 at Pezenas (France). She betters her WYB of 4.49 achieved last winter indoors.

that IAAF link to the pole vault cannot be viewed in the US... I did see Lavillinie's 5.80 clearance was huge, what happened at the next bar? Barber had 3 or 4 inches on 5.90.
